 Even before her first poem publication at age eleven, Skyla Dawn Cameron knew she was a writer. It just took the rest of the world awhile to realize it. Now in her early twenties, she is a full-time novelist, living with her soulmate just outside of Toronto, Ontario. She is also an ordained minister, an indigo child, and the bravest little toaster around.
"This above all: to thine own self be true." Though Shakespeare might have said it a few centuries ago, it's still something people need reminding of. Not for Skyla, however. She's always lived life her way, and refuses to compromise herself. If readers take anything from her books, she wants them to feel inspired and empowered to be themselves. Her stories feature strong, non-conforming heroines, living in worlds that range from far off fantasy lands, to early twentieth century Scotland, to modern-day Canada.
When she's not writing, she's still usually at her computer, either chatting with friends from around the world, or arguing with someone. While some people call her the devil incarnate, Skyla just calls herself a brat. In her plentiful spare time, she also loves anything that involves a good story, whether she's reading a book, watching a movie, or playing one her of many video games. She is currently working on a sequel to her debut novel, River.
